Our History

Layne Morgan, now retired, established Mid-Plains Construction, Inc. in 1994 in Durant, OK. After working in the construction industry for over 20 years, Layne felt it was time to use his experience and accrediated education to create a construction company that business owners could count on from inception to completion. Mid-Plains offers a complete set of construction services to the regional market.

Mid-Plains has partnered with sophisticated owners to deliver complex building solutions. Past client history includes, but is not limited to:

  • Thomas Seidel, CCM

    Owner/President

    Thomas’ primary objective is to ensure the most cost effective delivery of our clients’ projects. By proactively developing a detailed understanding of client needs, Thomas is able to bring value engineering and cost saving solutions to our clients’ projects. His in-depth knowledge of the competitive bid market and strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors allow him to ascertain the most competitive pricing structure for every project budget. Thomas brings over 14 years of construction experience to our preconstruction services offerings.

  • Stacy Wilson

    Office Manager / Project Management Assistant

    Stacy brings 23 years of Project Management experience working with Contractors, contracts, and the competitive bid process. Her skills ensure our clients get the best quality price for their projects. She is very efficient in working with projects from the pre-bid stage all the way through contract close out and strives to streamline the relationship with our clients. In addition to her responsibilities assisting with Project Management, she is also tasked with the position of Office Manager, overseeing that all office operations are running smoothly.

  • Deena Mackey

    Comptroller

    Deena has worked in the corporate accounting field for more than 10 years. Her knowledge and experience in the day-to-day bookkeeping tasks and financial statement preparation is a major asset to our company. Her experience and dedication ensure that our client’s projects are accurately and efficiently documented according to accounting principles. Deena is diligent making sure that every dollar invested in the company and our projects has been properly used to its fullest potential.

    Project Manager

    Tony is dedicated to project management by providing a critical link in communication between Owners, Architects, and Site Supervisors throughout the life cycle of a project. He works closely with Subcontractors and Suppliers to ensure our client’s projects are completed in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Tony brings a dynamic to our team that maintains the spirit of excellence well established by Mid-Plains Construction for every client’s project.
